Belly dance is an art with cultural roots stemming from many different countries including, but not limited to Egypt, Lebanon, and Turkey. Here in the US, belly dance is increasing in popularity not only as a fantastic way to improve fitness, but as a way to empower people of all genders, ethnic backgrounds, and body types (yes, men DO belly dance!). Whatever body type YOU have is the right type for belly dance!
In each class, Sammie will introduce new belly dance movements and combinations to get you ready to shimmy and shake your stress away! The focus will be on improving muscle isolation, strengthening muscle groups for dance endurance, and fostering fluidity and grace in dance technique.
